Semester almost over

The semester is almost over...then I can die. One last push (...just keep swimming...) then hopefully I can start to work on my portfolio and get some work up in my gallery. *sigh* I'm a little down. I have a client project that I have no time to work on, and I have no idea how I'm going to finish my animation final. If I survive the task, I'll post it after finals week. It is most likely the first and only piece of animation I will ever create. I've proven to myself (and the instructor) that I don't have what it takes to be in that program.

On the plus side, i survived the h1n1 virus, I'm getting CS4 and a new bed for Christmas, and my dog still loves me. I'll see you on the other side.

Been awhile...

Howdy Dev's.

It's been awhile. I've been working on client site that has recently been launched. They are a start-up outdoor clothing company based out of Montana called Roscoe Outdoor. They're really enthusiastic about their lifestyle and dream of bringing superior clothing/gear to the climbing, hiking, trekking, skiing set. The rub? They only have one product. One pair of pants. They will, of course, be adding more products as time goes by, but this is always an odd way to start a company.

I know they'll go far. They have a great vision...but from a design standpoint, this was/is (I'm still making changes and improvements) a difficult job. It's hard to establish the brand and personality of a company when there's little content to work with. Oh well. Many of the visual problems with the site are my fault. I've lost my mojo. Some things have gone on in my life that have made art impossible to focus on. I need a major mood/talent boost. The solution? I don't know. But I'm thinking of combining Saint John's Wort with alcohol and some cartoon watching. I'll let you know how that goes.

P.S. Let me know what you think of the site.

The 3 devious things I'd do...

The original forum promt by :iconfella::

You're strolling along minding your business and come across an old computer...dusting it off, it starts to blink, beep and smoke! Suddenly, $spyed appears on the screen and tells you(!) that you are now the CEO of deviantART. You now have the power to make three devious things happen. What three things do you choose to do and why?

  1. Decree all deviants must spell correctly for one day...
otherwise they will sent to a work camp!

  2. Change the fatigue-green color scheme to an animated
psychedelic-rainbow version every time someone clicks
    the "collective acid trip" button.

  3. Allow nudity and sexual themes but scramble them into
a puzzle that horny visitors will have to solve to view the
image (and the puzzles will become increasingly more
difficult), you gotta work for it!

- Natalie 'mistress of all evil' Carlson, CEO of deviantART*

*Please note that I am not, nor have I ever been a CEO of deviantART. But, I would make a good one (see campaign points above).

I keep working and working...

  • Watching: NCIS marathons (I heart Abby)

Progress is slow but steady. I prefer my progress fast and immediate, but you can't win them all. The muse will surely come, hopefully. I need her now. My horoscope was hysterical. I love checking them after the day is almost over and seeing how right they were. I had major cabin fever, and finally got out of the house - only to be too late to go to the place I was planning on (which is on reduced summer hours). It felt good though, and I plan on doing it again, with or without a schedule.

Horoscope: When it comes to a sign as fiery, outgoing, and personable as yours, it's easy to see how staying at home might not be your favorite activity - at least, not on a regular basis, certainly not alone, and absolutely, positively not now, when the heavens are fairly bursting with rebellious energy. So if you just can't force yourself to stay in, even if you're tired, don't. Remember - you can always catch a power nap tomorrow, right?

Website project for client X is going well. Updates to my site are being made swiftly but sporadically. I'm currently in the process of transferring colleges. Tedious procedures and steps involved. I've already missed a couple deadlines and am busy playing catch-up on all the things I have to do before I can officially register. I'm really excited and eager to get started. Paperwork is not for the art-inclined. Maybe if I was designing the forms then I would get them done? Nope, probably not. Anyway. Go Spartans! More importantly, I'm two episodes behind in Lost...so now I'm lost. Completely. Who's in what timeline now?

May you all be blessed with music and feasting, NC
